Let’s face it – stress is a part of everyday life! Even when we think we are not affected by stress, the truth is, we are. There are four types of stress that can affect us daily, and it’s important to be aware of the damage stress can have on our bodies.
Four daily stressors:
Mental: This type of stress can relate to work schedules, school assignments, finances or having too much on your plate and feeling like you can’t accomplish it all.
Physical: You can put your body through a lot of physical stress without realizing it. Gardening, hiking, moving heavy objects, exercising more than you are used to – these are all examples of ways you can put stress on your body.
Emotional: Common issues in your relationships can add to your stress. When you argue with your significant other, or your children; when you care for a loved one who is sick, or when you mourn the loss of someone very close to you – these situations can impact you deeply, and cause emotional stress.
Environmental: The environment alone can cause stress on your body. The air, water, and food supply often contain toxins that can wreak havoc on your body. These toxins are stressors that can cause your body systems to shut down.
